This Saturday we will be hosting a day conference in Golden Valley Church, entitled, “How to Stop Dieting and Start Living”. We will be joined by a team from “Fit for Life Forever”, whose aim is to promote health and well-being in the Church.
The team will be led by Dr Sue Kenneally who is a GP working in a surgery in Cardiff. She has a passion to help people who are struggling with maintaining a healthy weight and lifestyle. She and her team will be tackling subjects such as:
‘Why diets don’t work’
‘How to have a heart for God and for health’
‘Developing a spirit controlled appetite’
‘Exercise – getting moving’
The overall aim of “Fit For Life Forever” is to promote health and well-being within the Body of Christ. It is endorsed by health professionals who, in response to the obesity epidemic especially, have a desire to see the church become part of the answer rather than part of the problem.
A main pillar of the Fit For Life Forever ministry is the STOP DIETING-START LIVING healthy lifestyle, non-diet, weight regulation course. This is a Christian weight loss course with a Biblical foundation.
Sue Kenneally is a GP working in a busy surgery in central Cardiff where she has developed an interest in weight management and promoting a healthy lifestyle. She is studying Nutritional Medicine at university and juggles this with “being married to Dan and mum to three crazy boys.” She says, “I believe that living a healthy life honours God and I want to encourage His people to live well for His glory.”
The day will run from 10am to 4:30pm with an hour lunch break. Please bring your own packed lunch with you. Registration will be at 9:30am. Tickets can be booked on Ticket Source.
It was with great joy that we welcomed Sarah Liberman and her team from Carmel, Israel, to host the “Ascend: The Worship Journey” conference in Golden Valley Church, this past weekend.
Sarah is a Worship Leader, Songwriter, and Speaker with a deep passion for true worship from pure hearts. Her love for God, and her appreciation of all that Yeshua (Jesus) has done is clearly evident.
She challenged us to go deeper and higher in our worship, to listen and obey God’s voice, and to develop pure hearts before Him. Sarah carries a unique sound of worship, which bridges across generations and nationalities.
The prayer session on Sunday afternoon was powerful! Those in attendance sought God fervently for our own area of Gloucester and Cheltenham, for the UK, and for Israel. Many delegates commented on how impacting and life-changing the weekend has been. We are truly thankful to God.
Sarah has two worship albums, “I Am Before You” and “A Pure Heart”, and also her own YouTube channel.
It is with great anticipation we prepare for our weekend with Michael and Elisa French this weekend.
Pastor Michael oversees Cahaba Equipping Ministries, a Streams Ministries Training Center, devoted to training and equipping spiritual leaders around the world. He has been actively involved in ministry since 1982. He founded The Bridge Birmingham, AL, in 1998 and pastored the church for 17 years. He received his call into the ministry, after practicing law for 16 years. He was raised in a home that hosted spiritual fathers such as Bob Jones and John Paul Jackson as personal friends.
Over the past 27 years, Michael and Elisa have ministered all around the world. They are also the co-founders of Pavilion Village Children’s Home in Kenya.
Michael worked with John Paul Jackson over 30 years and was mentored by John Paul (particularly in the areas of prophetic ministry/evangelism and biblical dream interpretation) during that time. Michael has been teaching on these subjects around the world since 2002. With John Paul’s blessing, Michael founded and now serves full time as Executive Director of Patria Ministries (www.patriamin.com), an international association of churches and ministries headquartered in Birmingham, Alabama.
Michael also serves as a member of the pastoral team at his home church, King’s Way, in Irondale, Alabama.
He is the author of four books, including “The Elisha Way: Preparing for the Double Portion” and “The Remedy: Exercising God’s Authority in Your Life” (which he co-wrote with his father, Bill French).
Michael and Elisa live in Leeds, Alabama with their four sons – Joshau, Caleb, Jacob and Noah.
Cost: No charge. An offering will be taken. Come along and be blessed.
We are excited to have Jeremy and Connie Sinnott back with us this week in Golden Valley Church for a mid-week conference.
Jeremy and Connie are loved ministers in GVC and it’s a joy to be welcoming them to Gloucester again. They come from a Barrie, Ontario where they currently pastor the new “Catch the Fire” church plant out of Toronto.
There is no charge for these meetings but offerings will be taken up.
Like Father, like son and daughter. That’s God’s desire for us – to know Him as He is, and to be like Him. Jesus lived with a secure identity as Son of the Father. His desire is for us to live in the security of Sonship too. This weekend conference will take us deeper in the Father’s love.
It will be a pleasure to welcome Peter Jackson in Golden Valley Church, from Toronto, in May as our speaker.
Peter and Heather Jackson were the founding directors of the Catch The Fire School of Ministry (SOM) in 1995, as the outpouring of the Holy Spirit was beginning to spread worldwide.. Their vision for the SOM came from many years of experience teaching and directing ministry schools with Daystar Ministries and Youth With A Mission (YWAM).
For more than thirty years now, they have been privileged to impart the revelation of the Father’s love and Sonship in churches, conferences and encounter retreats all over the world.
Go to Eventbrite to register for this event. Early booking is advised, as places may be limited.
It is with great anticipation we are awaiting our forthcoming conference with Jeremy & Connie Sinnott, from Catch the Fire, Toronto.
They are well loved in Golden Valley Church, and we look forward to sharing in worship and fellowship together during the weekend of 5th to 7th December.
Friday and Saturday will comprise a short conference entitled, “CLOSER”. Sessions will take place at the local parish church in Coney Hill, St Oswald’s, due to the larger size of the venue.
We know God’s Presence will be here, and we are sincerely grateful for that.
Scott and Hilary Dalton will be back in Golden Valley Church, March 1st to 3rd, for a mini-conference entitled ‘Supernatural Living’.
The Daltons are regular conference speakers and ministers in GVC, and it is a pleasure to be hosting this event with them again. They are itinerant ministers based at ‘Catch the Fire’, Toronto (formerly TACF), and have a passion to release Christians to their true identity in Christ.
Scott and Hilary say, “This will be a weekend of life-changing teaching and powerful impartation. The Voice of God is calling out across England, ‘Rise Up, Church!’ It’s time to throw off complacency and dullness of spirit. Let’s reject weak and defeated living and press into God for the fullness of His vision for our lives!..”
Sessions will be Friday evening, Saturday afternoon and evening, Sunday morning.
“Most people know that God is a Father in much the same way as people outside of my family know that I am a father. They know that fact because they have been taught it or because they see it in Scripture. But they may not have experienced it. Too many people in the church only have a theology of God as a Father but few have come to experience him as a Father to them.
“God’s heart is that we come to experience him as Father. God, our Father, wants us to have a heart of sonship and to experience his love as Jesus did. After all, when we became Christians we became children of God (John 1:12).”
The above is a quote from Mark Gyde’s book, “A Father to You”. Mark will be speaking in Golden Valley Church, January 11th and 12th 2013.
It is with great anticipation and excitement we are preparing for this weekend’s conference in Golden Valley Church, “A Father to You”.
The reality of God’s Fatherhood has been a primary value in GVC since its beginning and has been reflected in much of our history and teaching. But in a world where both ‘God’ and ‘Father’ carry so many mixed emotions and beliefs for people it is important for us as Christians to continue to fully align with the amazing, overwhelming truth that God is our absolutely loving and faithful Father, who provides security for living in a world that has generally turned its back on Him.
This weekend we have our friend Mark Gyde with us. Mark leads a ministry and has authored a book with the same title, “A Father to You”. He is a close colleague of James & Denise Jordan (Fatherheart Ministries) and together with Barry Adams, hosts a weekly webcast on a Wednesday.
We believe that this is a great opportunity to dig deeper into the love and truth of God the Father, and to soak up that blessing as we begin another year. The year ahead is full of uncertainty – we know that – but the love of God the Father is both certain and constant, whatever our life has been like.
We look forward to welcoming Mark in GVC at the Firehouse chapel, Coney Hill, on Friday and Saturday.
